Privacy at Lord Play
Last updated: October 1, 2026
In short: Lord Play is a media player. To work, it uses your TV's identification and the playlist login you enter. While you watch, the app tells our server what is playing so our support team can help. Video never passes through our servers. We don't ask for your name, ID number, address or location, we don't sell data and we don't use anything for advertising.
1. Who we are
This policy covers the Lord Play Smart TV app and the lordplay.net website. The data controller is Lord Play. Contact: [email protected].
2. What data the app uses
| Data | Purpose | Where it is kept |
|---|---|---|
| TV identification: MAC address, a code derived from the device identifier (hashed with SHA-256), TV model, system and app version | Recognize the TV, keep you signed in and show support which device has a problem | Our servers and the TV itself |
| Playlist login: the username and password you type | Validate access and find your provider's server address | Sent to our servers when you sign in; stored on the TV to sign in automatically |
| Usage while the app is open: current screen, name of the channel or title playing, whether it is playing or paused, playback position and name of the server in use | Technical support and the list of connected devices | Our servers |
| Error reports: error message, recent actions in the app and the TV data above | Find and fix bugs | Our servers |
| Ratings and info lookups: the rated title (like/dislike) and title names used to fetch synopsis, artwork and trailer | Show movie and series details and count ratings | Our servers |
| Your settings and history: favorites, "continue watching", parental PIN, preferences and a copy of your playlist's catalog | App functionality | Only on the TV |
| Activation purchase (on the website): the payer's CPF (Brazilian taxpayer ID), plan, amount and the activated TV (MAC address) | Create the PIX payment and unlock the TV after payment | The CPF goes straight to the payment processor and is not kept by us; the order (TV, plan, amount and status) is kept on our servers |
3. What the app does not collect
- Name, email, phone or address. The CPF is only asked on the website, when paying for activation (see above).
- Location, camera, microphone, contacts or files on the TV.
- The video you watch: it goes straight from your provider's server to your TV, without passing through us.
4. Who data is shared with
We do not sell or rent data. We do not use data for advertising. Some services take part in how the app works:
- Your playlist provider: the TV connects directly to the provider's server to get the catalog and the video. The provider has its own privacy policy.
- The Movie Database (TMDB): movie and series images are loaded from TMDB image servers, which receive the TV's IP address. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
- YouTube: the Trailer button opens the YouTube app on your TV; from there, YouTube's policy applies.
- Cloudflare: protects and delivers the website and the connections to our servers.
- Payment processor (currently AtivoPay): receives the payer's CPF and the amount, only to create the activation PIX payment. It has its own privacy policy.
- Authorities: only when required by law.
5. How long we keep data
We keep data only as long as needed for the app to work, for support and for security. Data stored on the TV is removed when you sign out in the app or uninstall it. You can ask us to delete what is on our servers at any time.
6. Your rights
You can ask for access, correction, deletion or portability of your data, and ask how it is used (Brazilian LGPD and similar laws). Write to [email protected] with your TV's MAC address (shown in the app). We reply within 15 days.
7. Children
Lord Play is not directed to children. The playlist and the login belong to the person responsible for the TV. The app has a kids mode and a parental PIN so the responsible adult controls what is shown.
8. Security
Connections to our servers use HTTPS, and the app verifies the signature of responses before trusting them. No system is 100% secure, but we handle data carefully and only for as long as needed.
9. Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the date at the top is updated. Important changes are also announced in the app.
